This really takes me back to the once and only time I saw a painting by Anders Zorn. It was the portrait of the founder of the Conservancy group for Washington, D.C. I was there on business as I was building a building within their concern. When business was done I asked if I could spend some time with the portrait. I remember my uneducated response to the texture and strokes as I felt it made the viewer feel like he was looking thru tears at someone they loved. And I suspect there was great respect for the work of the person painted. I'll have to go look up the rest of his work.
