Containing Multitudes Since 2004
The last living star of a silent film (a "Mickey McGuire" short in 1927), he had an 87-year career in show business - maybe longer if you count his stage appearances as, literally, an infant. His over-the-top, over-acting style could sometimes make you cringe. But as a 15 year old in "Midsummer Night's Dream" or as a 59-year old horse trainer in "The Black Stallion", you can't take your eyes off him. Arguably one of the 10 biggest stars in the history of Hollywood.
