If anyone does know their names or anything else about this pic do tell. I will happily change the title, but for now unknowns (at least to me)they shall be.

Hmmm...I suspect that it is Pat Taylor and Barb Renwick from Scottville, MI. They were both excellent bowlers at the time, and were WIBC members. I will check with the USBC and see if they can send me a roster of doubles teams from that tournament and report back when I hear from them.

No results from the USBC yet, but I have confirmation that they are looking into it for me.
Stay tuned... :)

Wow. So she was 39 when that photo was taken.

I have not heard anything more from the USBC, so am afraid thee is no more info coming and no way to verify the IDs of these women.

Sorry gang, I tried. :(

Well spotted Ballyhoo Vintage News.
Mr Chinery I salute your efforts and you are all most certainly right>
As a limey (albeit one besotted with certain aspects of America) I have never heard of the USBC.
Mr Sutpen do you think Mr Chinery has done enough to warrant changing this pictures name?

Tom Sutpen said...

No.

bill chinery said...

I agree, Tom.
Close just isn't good enough when you are talking about ID'ing people.

Testify: The USBC is the organization of professional bowlers in the US. It subsumed the WIBC (seen in the image) at some point, and they have all the historical records which exist. As you might expect though, they have significantly more important things to do with their day than chase down 40 year old photos.
