Went to that. Most of it was great, but Jefferson Airplane walked off stage after about 15 minutes because it was raining and they didn't trust the electrics. The Byrds then came on and played a brilliant acoustic set for the rest of JA's timeslot plus their own. So up yours, Paul Kantner!

It was also where I learned that Led Zep, whose original stuff I didn't much care for, could play the blues better than any white band I'd ever heard bar Cream, once they'd got the crowd pleasers out of the way.

Cool. Thanks for the stories Chris.

Led Zep had to follow Johnny Winter - I must admit Johnny was my favourite act of the festival. Mothers were good but seemed to do a short set - Santana were great but I wished they were louder

Thanks Peter. Any and all recollections are welcome.
