actually that isn't the Beachcombers. This is prior to the Beachcombers. At first it was thought to be the Escorts - the band where Moon replaced his best friend Gerry Evans on the drums without Evans' knowledge - but it turns out that its a band called Mark Twain and the Strangers. From left to right the members are / were Barry Foskett, Keith Moon, Peter Tree and Mike Evans. Circa 1962.

The Beachcombers were indeed Moon's first full-time/steady paying band. They were part of the Bob Druce Circuit as were his future band the Detours.

Blimey, Barry Foskett is my dad. I don't think he knew he was in the who's book. We only found this out when he passed. This is amazing he never told us anything about it!
