Annette was such a breath of "realness" in Disney's otherwise ultra WASP world. I don't believe he was anti Semetic, but he did present an undiversified society. I guess that was what he knew best and was comfortable with, and could present it without, "extensive scrutiny" in the days of the Cold War.
