I heard on Monday that he'd committed suicide. so sad. loudfamily.com softens it, saying he just "passed away" if only it were that gentle

Whatta bummer. Hats of and salute to the wonderful spooky art rock of Game Theory and The Loud Family. Good stuff.

If you were once young, beautiful, and gifted, but the recognition that your friends predicted for you never quite happened, getting old can be unpleasant.

This was my experience. And you are perfectly right.

A few years younger than mister miller (who is my age), I held a Taurus .357 Magnum in my hand, contemplating ending that unpleasantness.

A friend somehow knew from afar, and stopped me.

I now have no recollection of the pain I was in. I know intellectually the state I was in, and I can recall my actions. But they're the actions of someone else who's not here anymore. I wish that mister miller had made it through his pain -- which I think was related in some ways to his career arc.

I look at the photo of him with his family here at the memorial fund for his children, and can only think how meaningless that recognition and those predictions were.

Easy for me to say. . . .
