The Dictascrivener' , 1898 'The Patterson-Armitage Dictascrivener of 1898 was an early attempt to perfect a method of effecting transfer of thought to paper without program or mediation. The gentle voltage passing through the barrel of the Dictascrivener emitted a vibratory stimulus which would allegedly trigger a discharge of dazzling revelations.'
