Like so much of his work, it's not the idea so much as the execution that counts. The head served on a platter is something of a cliche, but the impact of the photo comes from the details. Arranging the many small items that fill the tray, then the flatware, the lamp, salt and pepper shakers, tablecloth, etc., must have taken a lot of time and care.
