Most of the brief bios of Buñuel are politely circumspect about the fact that some of his middle-era work seemed to be done mostly for money, even if he did inject some class into them. The Young One for example doesn't have much to do as a film with either Un chien andalou or The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie.
