Weirdly just t'other day I sent an email to Tom suggesting Brando was rather under represented on the slinger.

This was his first professional role.Director Robert Lewis who saw this production recalled of Brando "He was so real I didn't think he was acting. I thought he was a boy that they had hired to walk on the stage and be himself."

Brando played Nels a 14/15 year old in the first act who returns later in the play as a 20 something. Brando's one time friend Carlo Fiore in his scurrilous tome The Brando I Knew recalled "women in the audience gasped with audible admiration." when the adult Nels returned.
