containing multitudes since 2004
My father-in-law in his younger days looked just like Vince, even to the glasses. Worse; his name is Roland, but everyone calls him Rocky. Worser still; he went to a Jesuit-run boarding school, and played football with helmets without faceguards. Was I intimidated by the old man? Ya think?
whilst leading the Redskins [helmet on left].Shortly before his demise. . . .
I'm amending my Redskins comment -- it could well be a Packers helmet. And why the f*ck do i care, you ask . . . .?
The helmet looks like the stripes of a Packers helmet to me. I don't know what the older 'Skins helmets looked like.
According to this site, A Redskins helmet of the Lombardi regime would not have had that center strip be two-tone, but would have been solid. So it's looking like a Packer sideline.
One of the most memorable NFL Films clips ever:"Everybody's grabbing, nobody's tackling! Just grabbing. Grab, grab, grab!"
Him and Weeb, like two peas in a pod - both sharp fellers, too.
Just think, Joe Pa was alive back then...
