The Explanation
(for those who require one)
And, of course, that is what all of this is -- all of this: the one song, ever changing, ever reincarnated, that speaks somehow from and to and for that which is ineffable within us and without us, that is both prayer and deliverance, folly and wisdom, that inspires us to dance or smile or simply to go on, senselessly, incomprehensibly, beatifically, in the face of mortality and the truth that our lives are more ill-writ, ill-rhymed and fleeting than any song, except perhaps those songs -- that song, endlesly reincarnated -- born of that truth, be it the moon and June of that truth, or the wordless blue moan, or the rotgut or the elegant poetry of it. That nameless black-hulled ship of Ulysses, that long black train, that Terraplane, that mystery train, that Rocket '88', that Buick 6 -- same journey, same miracle, same end and endlessness."

50 British Bobbies in 1968 "all of them armed"??? I think not. Where'd you get that factoid. Better check.
You betcha they were. Those hats can put somebody's eye out if'n they get swung the wrong way.
One false move and Lennon could have just told Yoko, "Sing!" Those bobbies would have been penguin dust in no time.
He had spectacles. You don't beat a man in spectacles, don't you?
Truncheons at the ready, might have to bop a mop top.

Life with The Lions
..'ere 'ere now move along ..move along..
What were the "inquiries"? Did this have anything to do with the kidnapping of Yoko's daughter by her ex-husband?
This would be John's drug bust.
Of course the title Life With the Lions comes from the BBC Radio show Life with the Lyons, which featured Ben Lyon and his wife, American film comedienne Bebe Daniels.
