I love the Collins Kids. Larry Collins grew up to write "Delta Dawn," a song that seems to lodge itself in my brain from time to time. Thanks a lot, Larry!

I thought they were just wonderful when I first saw them on Tex Ritters Ranch Party TV show 45 years ago, and I know they are still doing gigs. Coincidentally, they are mentioned as an early influence by the performer whose memoir is my most recent post.

A double-neck Mosrite! If it's still out there, it's probably worth more than a lot of houses are nowadays.

I wonder if Joe Maphis was their Mosrite connection?

There's a lot of Joe Maphis and Larry Collins on YouTube. This example is pretty cool. There's two necks on those Mosrite's for a reason!

Fergit "Delta Dawn." He wrote "Whiste Bait" and "Hot Rod"!

And his sister was as hot as they come.
