Rochester, NY (my hometown) was once hell on musicians. Buddy Rich was busted for pot there (in his hotel room, as I recall), and in '65 the chief of police walked on stage during a Rolling Stones show to shut it down. Somehow I missed Bowie's arrest.
Aristocracy reduced to rabble.Indeed, the Thin White Duke had seen better days.
Like the aforementioned Buddy Rich, Bowie was busted for pot, along with Iggy Pop, in his hotel room after a concert.
Driving down mansion row in Rochester, you get the sense they take their propriety seriously, although these days you only have to go a couple of blocks from George Eastman House to find a Kentucky Fried Chicken where the employees are protected by a wall of plexiglas.

But they need the plexiglas when exchanging money and weed at Kentucky Fried Cannabis.
How else would you get fried extra crispy?
That makes no sense at all.
Is Bowie hiding a cigarette case in his jaw? Or is this another poorly cropped mug like Oswald's? Just what really happened in Rochester?
