Davis was firstly a dancer, as was Audrey hepburn and Goldie Hawn.
Don't know about anyone else, but his particular slant on the "Here come de Judge" routine from "Laugh-in" always seemed me to be an unwritten progenitor of rap. Just sayin'.
Yeah, I know Pigmeat Markham was the originator, but Sammy had such a distinctive style, plus a much bigger audience.
