Strange he's using a British Webley .455. A real cowboy to the bone, tho.
A man who could walk the walk and talk the talk, an accidental star. As I understand it he was one of the few people Ford was careful with because Ben didn't give a damn - he could always go back rodeoing.

A good bad guy and a great good guy.
His speech by the water tank is possibly the best soliloquy in movies, ever.
Agreed...and The Wagon Master isn't a bad little oater neither.
For some reason my personal favourite is Sergeant Tyree in "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon." He was handsome as a young man and aged well.
