I wish I could answer that. I've had this photo sitting here for so long, I can't remember where I got it from, except to say I got it off the 'net.
Also . . . if I had to explain the circumstances behind every 'When Legends Gather' entry (what the occasion was, etc), I'd be totally lost. I don't know if I could even give a general accounting of 10% of them.
tas said... (hey, you're not the same Ryan who almost sold me a copy of Robert Kramer's Ice last month, are you?)

No, I'm a Calgary Ryan. I got here via a posting you made on affz. It's getting dumber than ever over there - now they're poxed with cross-posting dummies as well as the indigenous crowd.

***** Ah. I remember my one and only posting to that newsgroup all too well. Swell reception my query got, huh. Almost put me off of writing that piece on The World's Greatest Sinner entirely.
Btw, if you have a copy of Kramer's Ice I'll make you a fair offer for a DVD-R of it.

Probably some sort of odd photo op (maybe they were neighbours!)..."Silent movie strongman meets modern day muscleman!"
Or something like that.
Ken Huthmaker was one of the official photographers for Mickey Hargitay's television exercise program.

His most striking image (to my mind, anyway) is this one of Debbie Reynolds:

I would never expect you to explain the circumstances behind every 'When Legends Gather' entry-only the ones that make my head hurt. ;)
